How to Play Video Poker

The object of Video Poker is to assemble predetermined combinations of cards. These combinations are ranked in a certain manner that results in a higher payout for less common card combinations. These combinations are based on five card poker as follows:

Royal Flush: 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace all of the same suit

Straight Flush: 5 consecutive cards of the same suit (eg. 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 of hearts)

Four of a Kind: any four of the same card

Full House: 3 of one card, and two of a second card (eg, 6, 6, 3, 3, 3)

Flush: Any five cards made up of the same suit

Straight: Any five consecutive cards made up of any suit

Three of a Kind: Three of the same cards in a hand

Two Pair: Two pairs of the same cards in a hand (eg. 7, 7, A, A)

Jacks or Better: 1 pair of the same cards of Jacks or higher in a hand

The player needs to place a bet of 1 to 5 coins. The player is then dealt five cards, and has the opportunity to decide which of the cards he would like to keep, and which to discard. The purpose is to build a hand into one of the combinations found above.
